Hey there.
Lucas is the man.
Starwars is what got me into watching and wanting toi make movies. From there it was Indiana Jones then I got into speilberg. Its from reading biographies on lucas and Speilberg that led me to other geat directors and there movies from Kurasowa to Hitchcock.
I think allot of people resent the fact that Lucas has made so much money. But the fact is the guy is in the position any of us would kill for. He makes 100 million dollar independent movies. He has complete controll. He is a true artist. ok people may not think he is a good artist but at least we know everything up o screen is how he intends it to be. Good or Bad that is an acomplishment.
Despin out.

Lucas movies may not be great films but they're fun to watch and Star Wars was the film that got me intrested.
Lucas does exersize almost exclusive control over his pictures, even down to his own frickin' special effects company.
I thought American Graffiti was funny, Star Wars, of course, set the standard for almost every sci-fi film after '77. I could have down without Willow however and TPM was kind of misguided but I think Lucas is a pretty great guy.
BTW: The best film he ever made was a small little film called THX 1138, the one that started it all.

I really like Star Wars in general, but I have a big problem with Jar Jar Binks. And the title for episode 2. I thought the trailer shows some potential though.
I guess my main problem with lucas is his poor dialogue and how over protective he is. I still count myself as a Star Wars fan, but not a fanatic.

Lucas is the man. Total 100% fan of his work.
Jar Jar Binks was light comic relief man, lighten up.
Lynch can?t write dialogue for shit. I wasn?t impressed with his dialogue in MD?

i like star wars and some spielberg stuff too - but i dont see them as being exciting movie makers anymore, they have carved a niche and they cant get out of it, i sometimes say
"oh another lucas/speilberg film... like i give a shit"
for fucks sake lucas stop making Star Wars movies

The only decent thing about the Phantom Menance was having Natalie Portman in it (Who incidently on an entirely different note starred in Leon by another great director Luc Besson) I'm looking forward to SW-E:2 (aka Clone Wars) as it's much darker.
